In the field of robotic snack delivery good old Alan by ROBOEXOTICA-veteran Chris Veigl has got a new competitor: Koolio, designed by students for the Machine Intelligence Laboratory at the University of Florida.
Also beating Alan on the cool drink issue, carrying a fridge, while Alan is restricted to ice-cubes in the tank, the Koolio device basically resembles a hotel-room's mini-bar on wheels.
The user accesses "the Internet to request that Koolio deliver a snack or a cold drink to their office. Koolio then leaves his docking station, navigates through the lab, and proceeds down the hallway, using cameras to find the correct office number, avoiding any obstacles in his path."
