Brain Race, or Drink and Drive

Brain Race is one of Chris Veigl's ingenious constructions using EEG-(brainwave)feedback.
Chris converted a conventional slot car race into a competition of two brains, competing in producing Alpha-waves (8-12Hz) a couple years ago, adding a robotic camera arm on the race-track to bring close-up live-action to a monitor or screen.
On another screen the inventive interface shows the actual frequency-split EEG-output of the contestants brains, plus a bar for each player's Alpha rate.
On top of that an artificial commentator narrates the race between the racing-personalities the brain-racers picked.

At ROBOEXOTICA 2005 the brain race was installed as Drink and Drive in order to scientartistically examinate the influence of alcohol ingestion on producing slot-car powering Alpha-waves.

Acting as moderator in these clips from the tour from bot to bot right before the Annual Cocktail Robot Awards gala, you can see Johannes Grenzfurthner.
